BIO

Keira Bird is an Australian actor, writer, assistant director, and musician. Raised in country NSW, Keira first found her passion and love for telling stories on stage.

 

With performances in the local Eisteddfod and school plays, she got her first lead role in the Favourite Shorts festival. Keira then went on to complete an AMEB Certificate with Voice and Communication Australia (CVCA), as well as a Screen Acting short course with NIDA.

 


On top of this, Keira is a a skilled cellist and violinist and has played in many local orchestras. She first combined her passions for acting and music when she became the assistant musical director for her school production. She also had a supporting role in the play she was curating music for. Keira was again able to combine her two passions for the TV series 'We Were Tomorrow' and has actively pursuing both ever since.

While based in Sydney, Keira completed multiple workshops with noted masters Anthony Brandon Wong and Rowena Balos. She also had the pleasure of auditing with Ivana Chubbuck on one of her visits to Australia. Keira's education continued as she received voice lessons from Bill Pepper and dialect coaching from Linda Nicholls-Gidley before completing a Certificate 4 in Screen and Media and a Screen Acting course with Screenwise Australia. During this time, she was a lead in multiple short films including 'Western Choices', 'Under the Water' and 'Baptised in Fire'.

In her spare time Keira likes to write and is currently working on her own Fantasy Thriller short film titled 'Lured'.

Keira has also worked behind the scenes as a Production Assistant, Assistant Director and Continuity/Script Supervisor. She likes to challenge herself and has a reputation for working hard and taking direction well.
